How do I apply?

What are the driver requirements?
You will need a Class A CDL, a clean MVR /PSP/ background, a minimum of 2 years verifiable driving experience, a current DOT physical, and you must be at least 23 years of age.
What happens
after I apply?
Once you submit your online application, it is immediately sent to our recruiting department for review. Upon approval, a member of our recruiting team will contact you to conduct a phone interview and schedule orientation.
When can I start driving?
Orientation is typically scheduled within 3-5 days of submitting your online application, depending on your current work schedule and availability to travel to one of our facilities. In most cases, you can expect to begin your driving career with SEC within one week of applying.
What is driver orientation?
Driver orientation is the process in which our drivers come to our home facility in
Lawrenceburg, TN, to begin training for their new career. During orientation, you will spend time with our safety director, learn the details of our equipment, and review the proper safety procedures required for the job. For applications based in Michigan, orientation is done virtually at our Cadillac facility. For shuttle driver applications based in Jackson, AL, orientation is done virtually as well.
How long will driver orientation take?
Orientation is a one day process, either completed virtually (Michigan applicants) or in
Lawrenceburg, TN. Orientation starts at 7:30 am and will conclude in the afternoon. Lunch will be provided!
What will I need for driver orientation?
You will need your drivers license, social security card, medical card, a full DOT physical AND long form, and your bank account information for direct deposits.
Will I get paid for orientation?
Yes, we pay $250 for orientation after you have worked a full 2 weeks.
What's a drivers starting base pay?
Pay starts at .50 to .60 cents per mile and is based on experience and safety records. We also have performance/safety based bonus opportunities, reaching up to an additional .07 cents per mile!
Does SEC us a slip seat system?
No, we do not use a slip seat system. Your truck is yours once it is assigned to you!
What does home time look like for OTR drivers?
Drivers are expected to be out 12-14 days at a time and home for 2 days.
Does SEC allow passengers?
Yes, we have a free rider policy for passengers 13+.
Does SEC allow pets?
We only allow small pets (25lbs or less) with a $500 deposit.
What equipment does SEC use?
We use mostly International LT625s and International Prostar automatics. We haul with 53' dry van only. NO TOUCH FREIGHT.
